Massage and Sauna
Massage and Sauna are used to lose excess fat from body. In the treatment of obesity experiments of Sauna and Steam-bath have also been popular. This type of heat treatment, increases heat in the body and causes profuse perspiration. This results, increase in the basal metabolic rate and health of the skin improves. These experiments, though they may not yield a big gain, certainly cause no harm.
Massage
Massage is used extensively in the treatment of obesity and for removing the excess fat from particular parts of the body. A person who massages his body himself, gets enough exercise and consequently his excess calories are consumed. Massage also improves the health of the skin.
While massaging care should be taken to ensure that the flow of the blood going towards the heart should be assisted and not vice versa. Means while massaging the arm pressure should be applied in the direction from wrist to the elbow but not from the elbow to the wrist.
So as explained in first paragraph, before you decide that you need to "lose weight", remember to consider that "weight" consists of both lean body mass and body fat. Try to keep your weight loss goals realistic, and remember, keep the calorie-burning muscle, and lose only the fat.
