THE CONCEPT
Somersizing is a "lifestyle change" diet, relying heavily
on food combining elements in order to achieve weight loss. The
plan was created by Suzanne Somers, a TV icon as well as a widely-trusted
weight loss guru. Her plan for weight loss consists of "rules",
guidelines for which foods to eat in cinjunction with other foods
for each meal.
THE PLAN
The guidelines for the plan include eating fruits alone, and
on an empty stomach. When eating protein and fat, you should combine
them with vegetables and no carbohydrates. When eating carbohydrates,
you should eat no fat and combine them with vegetables. You are
not supposed to consume any refined products, such as white sugar.
The plan is very simple. Users may be led to believe that any
weight lost is due to the combination strategies, however the
effects of the diet are due to the reduction of calories consumed
while following the plan.
The diet is a "Food Combining
Diet", allowing users to mix and match their meals, giving
them free reign over what each meal will consist of, so long as
the meal plan follows the previously set-forth guidelines.
Some people enjoy this form of dieting, as it usually produces
results. Yet many do not fare well with restricting diets, and
can also omit certain foods that are very beneficial to overall
health.
