THE CONCEPT
Subway is a "fast food" chain with restaurants spread
very thick over North America. Their submarines have many options
for what goes on them. People can choose from several bread options,
meats, vegetables, and dressings to customize a sub based on their
preferences.
THE PLAN
The diet plan Subway has developed was brought out to the public
over their interest in the story of Jared Fogle, a man who weighed
400 pounds before starting the now famous, "Subway Diet".
He noticed a sign in their window advertising their new low fat
sub options. He began eating the subs for lunch and dinner having
only a cup of coffee for breakfast. He combined this with a vigorous
walking regiment and lost over 200 pounds to achieve a 195 pound,
6'2'' frame.
The actual diet is very, very simple. If you can afford to eat
at Subway twice a day, then it is a reasonable option for cutting
most of your fat intake out of your diet. However, if you decide
to prepare your meals yourself after some time on the diet, your
eating habits will return to normal without some form of modification
to your eating habits.
The Subway diet is a basic weight loss strategy. Rely on someone
else to prepare your meals, trusting that they are providing you
with adequate nutrition while reducing your calorie and fat intake.
If you can afford it, it can work for you, but eating subs all
the time can grow very repetitive, very quickly.
Eating Subway Subs is not recommended as a full-time diet. You
can be lacking important nutrition with this diet. It should be
that you enjoy a Subway Sub every so often, maybe even a few times
a week to control your fat intake, but it should not be the only
thing you eat.
