THE CONCEPT
The Richard Simmons plan is built on strong principles and avoids
any severe problems dieticians can find with many other popular
diets these days. The diet is balanced, offers infinite possibilities
for a daily meal plan. Exercise is key to the plan, there are
many motivational tools, and the diet is not deficient in essential
vitamins, minerals, and minimum calories.
THE PLAN
The plan is based on a "food mover", a pyramid system
that allows users to keep track of their dietary needs on the
go. The pyramid is based on the recommended dietary intakes, and
gives nutritional data on the types of foods needed to fill each
portion of the "food mover".
The diet plan also involves 3-4 work-out sessions a week. The
goal is not to skip meals, use supplements, or eat anything in
excess, just plain eating properly and exercising. The average
person on the plan can expect to lose approximately 1-2 pounds
per week. This gradual weight loss is the healthiest form.
Richard Simmons also offers a web site where users create profiles,
and can participate in live web-chats with experts and Richard
himself. They can chat with each other, read a wealth of knowledge
related to proper weight loss and living an active, healthy existence.
