LIMITS TO WEIGHT LOSS
There is a limit to how much weight your body can lose over time.
Because of its abilities to counteract unhealthy weight loss,
it will generally only accept a certain level of weight loss.
This limit is typically about 1-2 pounds per week. Of course,
you cannot continue losing 1-2 pounds until you weigh nothing,
eventually you will hit your weight plateau, the point when your
body cannot afford any more pounds. Once you've reached this point,
it is all about balancing your calories so you don't start adding
to your waistline again. Keeping weight off your body is the hardest
part of dieting.
Many fad diets offer weight loss of "15 pounds in 10 days!"
and "30 pounds in 2 weeks", etc. These diets will simply
deprive your body of vitamins, and cause you to lose muscle mass
and water. Yet these diets do nothing to help you after the period
is over. Without any lifestyle change, you'll be doomed to climb
back to your original weight over and over again.
