HEALTHY FOODS
Healthy foods do not necessarily mean foods without taste. Many
of our favourite foods are good for us, the problem is cutting
out all our favourites at the other end of the spectrum. However,
here are some foods you should try to eat plenty of, that can
help keep you full without giving you too much fat and unnecessary
calories.
The fruits and vegetables category is a safe bet. Leafy veggies
and colorful ones are full of nurients and vitamins, and help
fill you up with a minimum of excess calories and fat. Plus, you
can eat them fresh or frozen, they don't lose any nutritional
value in the freezer!
When eating meats, its always better to choose poultry, avoid
eating the skin though. When preparing red meat, trim away excess
fat.
Nuts are typically a good choice as a snack to replace snack
foods, although choose nuts that are dry, not oily.
Dairy products typically come in various levels of fat content,
so choose low-fat cheeses, skim milk, low-fat yogurt and low-fat
cottage cheese.
In breads and cereals, choose whole wheat bread, and brown rice.
