WEIGHT LOSS
Weight loss is not the key to fitness, considering that a good
portion of the population is at an average weight. Yet for a large
number of people, weight loss can be the cornerstone to becoming
fit.
If you are overweight or obese, you are not fit. Fitness comes
when your body is functioning optimally. When your body is higher
in body fat than it should be, then your body is using up resources
to maintain your health that could be going to keeping you fit.
Weight loss can be achieved through many means, many of which
are listed on the right side of this page. Although some diets
listed are for information purposes only and are not to be followed,
many of them are reliable method of weight loss.
Dieting is key to weight loss,
and can be a simple modification of choicesfor your meals. By
selecting healthier choices for each meal, you can be cutting
out many unnecessary calories from your diet. Some diets call
for a more radical change to your meal plans, but can offer more
potent results.
Weight loss also depends heavily on exercising.
You can lose some weight by eating better but you need to add
exercise to your life. Exercise helps further balance your energy
equation, and if you burn more calories than you consume, you
will be burning up stored body fat, which will also help convert
some fat to lean muscle mass. Dieting and exercising will put
your body into a healthy state and allow you to call yourself
fit.
