THE CONCEPT
The Blood Type Diet is based on the premise that your blood type
can determine which foods are harmful to the achievement of your
ideal weight. By determining which foods work well with your blood
type you can achieve weight loss with little or no work.
THE PLAN
The plan can begin once you have purchased a copy of "Eat
Right 4 Your Type and Live Right 4 Your Type" by Dr. Peter
J. D'Adamo with Catherine Whitney. You are also required to find
out your blood type in order to follow the book's outlines. With
your blood type in hand, you can use the book to tell you all
foods that are banned for your blood type and all the foods allowed
by your blood type. With this knowledge, and following it properly,
will lead to weight loss. This idea befuddles many scientists,
as there has been no link made between blood type and allowed
foods.
A problem with the Blood Type Diet is that in some cases, the
plan calls for users of certain blood types to eliminate important
food groups all-together from their diet (such as breads). This
ignoring of any major food group will deprive the body of important
nutrients and minerals, including the basic building-blocks to
a healthy body.
The guide will also set up other life management options relating
to your blood type such as how much to exercise, what size of
meal you shouldbe eating, etc.
There are Blood Test diets, where a company will charge a fee
to take your blood sample and calculate personally your required
life and eating strategies.
