THE CONCEPT
The Beverly Hills diet was developed by Judy Mazel, an actress,
who discovered that by combining certain foods you can lose weight
quickly and easily. The diet puts a lot of emphasis on fruits,
overloading the user on a certain fruit for a certain day. The
main idea for this diet is that papaya can soften body fat, pineapple
will burn it off and watermelon flushes fat out of the body. These
loose guidelines drive the diet, and following them, the diet
claims to be your path to amazing weight loss.
THE PLAN
The plan, for starters, is dangerously low on protein and fat.
It is meant to last 35 days, and claims to lose the user 10 to
15 pounds in that period. The plan calls for days when all you
eat is melon, others pineapple, after the initial period, carbs
and butter are re-introduced into your diet. Later on, meat is
added. In the periods without meat, however, you run the risk
of missing much of the protein and iron that your body requires
on a daily basis.
The diet claims that the combinations of foods you consume will
burn away your fat and clean your system out of any toxins and
unwanted refuse. However, many scientists show much concern for
the validity of such a diet that is severely low in protein and
that is so unbalanced nutritionally.
The diet features a structured meal plan for every day of the
35 day plan. The books outline each day and are easy to follow
if you enjoy a structured dieting regimen.
Once the diet cycle is completed, users tend to find it very
difficult to maintain the weight loss as the plan does not teach
users to eat properly when not on the diet. A diet that is so
unbalanced and not worth partaking in unless you feel like trying
a diet that is not recommended and not proven.
